Argentina played its first international match on home soil against a touring British team in 1910. The team is currently coached by Santiago Phelan. In March 2008, Argentina reached its highest IRB World Rankings to date, by being placed third. Argentina have competed in every World Cup since its initiation in 1987. This year, 2012, due to Argentina competitiveness and performance it was invited to join the Southern Hemisphere competition and will be competing in The Rugby Championship against New Zealand, Australia and South Africa. Team colours are sky blue and white.
